Black Wednesday I

Next morning came .. It was curtailed , my sleep ..  My dad woke me up .. He was at the TV .. Seeing eagerly .. HEMANT KARKARE SHOT DEAD .. The ATS Chief .. The Crisis Continues ..
I sat down , without brushing was watching eagerly .. Only then did i realize that these terrorists meant real business and were not here to hold the city for ransom just for a night ..

India was , ofcourse was going to the Dogs .. The day passed , and i continued watching this . And what doubled my problem was I was Waiting for something ..

So yea , it was noon , still it continued .. The Crisis .. Only then were NSG Commandos bought in .. Lives were lost .. Innumerable ones of them .. It became the talk of town .. The whole situation was like seeing a typical Gautham Mennon Classic .. I am sorry .. But it was totally like that ..

I mean what the hell is happening ? Our we electing a govenrment who can't even provide us with proper security ? When do i walk out of my house with an assurance that I'll return safely back home ? AM WRITING THIS AS A PURE , DEVOTED CITIZEN OF THE COUNTRY ..

The night arrived .. The people were loosing their cool .. Mr. LK Advani started his trade mark dialogues of politicizing Terrorism .. It was emotional .. It started to get .. People weeping and mourning the death of the heroes ..

I myself was .. It was getting hard to digest .. Where were our intelligence ? Whats our so called HOME MINISTER doing ? Sohail , a writer in TOI came spoke in Times Now .. And boy did he speak .. He came , tore apart all the politicians and only then stopped .. I salute him .. These were the same things the whole of the country wanted to ask ?

What was Desmukh doing ? Going for  his son's premiere ? And we have A Home Minister who changes his clothes more often than addressing the nation .. And our FM talks India is having 8% growth ? May we kindly know if its 8% growth in the rise of terrorism ?

And what more worse .. The Terrorists are allowed to happily trek till the 19th floor .. And good trek did they have ..

When is India gonna get rid of Terrorism ? When can people roam about safely ? When will corruption stop among Politicians ?

These questions are still un-answered ..  And we , THE CITIZENS OF INDIA , need to know the answers for these questions ..

The Ball is in the court of the UPA Government who , according to everyone , have failed completely ..

All we can say is , this is an event which will go down in History .. An Event that will cause Impatience amongst the Common Man , An event that will see Govenrnment's fall if they don't govern properly ..

Till then ,

A TRUE CITIZEN OF INIDA !

A Black Wednesday

Well , to start off , its been real long since I blogged . So thought I could write one ..

A BLACK WEDNESDAY

So was it one . Thanks to the ever lasting rains , school had declared a holiday . Or rather , the government had ..

So it all started there .. A lazy morning , a planned venture out to Vaaranam Aayiram along with friends .. We had booked tickets the previous day and were waiting for it to arrive .. Few eager waiting moments passed by rather eventfully amidst people telling not to go for the movie for own safety as Cyclone Nisha was supposed to cross then .. We had our own problems of the tickets not arriving till 2 odd .. And then , I got a call from my friend and to our delight he said , Got Tickets just now .. Lol ..

But the rain kept pouring , so were advices from parents not to go . But i din't want to miss out on the film .. It was 4 . And i wasn't ready .. Couple of my friends came . I was still having a bath .. And then came out , with a reebok T-shirt and a cargo shorts with a back pack to carry stuff .. Much to the amusement of people around me .. Hehe .. Who gives a shit ..

We then took a decision , Rain or Hail , nothing is going to deter us from going to the film . And firm we were . So we took an Auto to Srinivas' from where he bought a Car .. Flooded was it everywhere .. It was fun to say water in Chennai .. Felt like going out and playing .. But .. :P:P

So we were finally outside Satyam , well before time .. Thought of spending some time at BLUR . But damn it , they had closed due to some problem ..

The wait was over . We were there watchin Vaaranam Aayiram .. To talk about the film , it was reality .. Akin to the lives of many teenagers now a days .. The Ups and Downs .. The First Half was a feel good type , after a long did i watch a nice musical movie . Second Half was hard to digest , but was reality .. Enjoyed the movie ..

What awaited us were rains and more of them . We searched endlessly to spot Srinivas' auto which we managed to successfully after half hour .. Journey back home continued .. Back through the flooded streets .. What made it exciting was the JOKE the auto man had cracked .. Too good it was .. Finally , i was back home ..

And thats when I , err , it all began for me .. Wasn't able to sleep the whole night for reasons known to few .. Just when i managed to get some sleep , my mobile rang .. I cursed it .. Explicitly .. It read 3 MESSAGES RECEIVED .. Just felt like screwing the person ..  Opened it .. It came BARRY , BARRY , BARRY ..

Opened it .. And it Read - "OUR COUNTRY IS GOING BACK TO THE DOGS .. A GROUP OF TERRORISTS ARE HOLDING MUMBAI FOR RANSOM .. THEY'VE SUCCESSFULLY ENTERED THE TAJ , TRIDENT - OBEROI AND HOSTAGES ARE HELD .. GOD SAVE THE COUNTRY " ..  And a couple of messages relating to this ..

My heart started pounding even more .. Where was I ? What's happening to India ? I felt like going back to bed .. But how could I ? How could i sleep happilly when the whole of Mumbai is on Fire ? I just could'nt .. Switched on my Tv , and what followed confirmed my worst fears .. True .. Our Country was going to the Dogs .. The first Image i saw was the Dome , the Dome of the Taj been shattered to pieces .. It read India's 9/11 , 86 killed, 100 injured ..

Dad got out of bed .. Maybe he thought i was watchin a Football Game late at night .. And just when he came to scold me , he saw it .. We sat and saw .. But we were'nt seeing for long .. Personally i wasn't .. Just could'nt take it thanks to things which had happened before i went to bed .. So i went slept with Parents , Hoping the crisis would have come to an End the next day ..

The Royal Bengal Tiger's Final Roar

June 1996,Mecca of cricket,Lords,London:
Against the likes of Cork,Mullalay,Martin a bespectacled, exuberant youngster from Calcutta who had been written off by cricket pundits after an inauspicious debut in 1992 cracked a phenomenal century on a chill, windy, biting morning at the United Kingdom.
Sourav Chandidas Ganguly had announced his arrival at the world stage.
Twelve years later,in a routine press conference at Bangalore:
"Just one last thing lads, before I leave. I just want to say that this is going to be my last series. I have decided to quit."These were the words used by a mature Sourav Ganguly which shook the roots of Indian Cricket. The choice of words was tantalising,he said 'Quit' instead of 'Retire'.That in itself reflects the lone battle he was waging with the never ending BCCI politics.

Lets play the numbers game;
400 matches,18000 runs,37 centuries ,150 wickets,a healthy average of over 40 and 1 bad series was all it took for the axe to fall on his head. When the whole of Fabulous Four fail against the mystic spin of Mendis and Muralitharan why was sourav zeroed in and dropped from the Rest of India squad? Is this the way to treat a cricketer who played his heart out everytime he donned the Indian colours?
Was it a golden handshake or was it Sourav's own decision,we will never know. There will always be debates raging about the timing of the call; whether Sourav could have played for another ten months or so.Lets respect his decision;C'mon we have been scrutinising every move of his, over the last decade. He is the best person to judge his career.
What the tainted images of Mohd.Azhruddin,Ajay Jadeja or even a Kapil Dev,Dilip Vengsarkar couldnt figure out(time to retire),Dada has.As long as you play for India it is absolutely fine but when one begins to dance to the internal politics,Sourav is not the one to face the music,he plays his own.

All it matters is at the end of the day,Sourav has signalled his exit with dignity.

Sourav,the cricketer

A career which has seen it all.Unimaginable peaks, depth of controversies, team loyalty, internal conspiracies, drawbacks, comebacks, disappointing defeats and intangible victories.
Rahul Dravid says,"
On the off side ,next to God,there is Sourav."
Strong words, but Sourav lived up to it.His ability to pierce through any field on the off side won him his opponent's agony.Ganguly cleared the ropes with ease, the victims being the slower bowlers predominantly.Who could possibly forget his 183 against the Sri Lankans in the 1999 World Cup???Muralitharan was taken to the cleaners. At a point of time in the late 90's Sourav Ganguly became the most feared batsman(he still is!) in world cricket with 7 centuries under his belt in a single season.
The Prince of Kolkata could turn a match on its head in a space of a few overs, not only with the bat but also with the ball. His 5-16 against arch rivals Pakistan will never be forgotten by the people on both sides of the border. His intimidating stance, adventurous strokes, sweet timing, deft placements dented the confidence of bowlers across the globe.Earning himself the name
The Royal Bengal Tiger,he was always on the prowl...

The leader
When Sourav Ganguly took the reigns from Azharuddin,Indian cricket was in dire straits. It had been rocked by the match fixing scandal.Top players had been caught. There was hardly any experience in the Indian side.Tendulkar had been burdened by the expectations of captaincy.A normal cricketer who had accepted the captaincy would have been a victim of the circumstances but the name was Sourav Ganguly. He gleefully accepted the responsibility and shouldered it with zeal.He moulded an inexperienced outfit into world beaters. He made the youngsters believe in themselves.Sehwag,Yuvraj,Kaif,Harbhajan,Zaheer,Parthiv enjoyed their captain's backing. He changed the face of Indian Cricket, bringing about a huge transition.
The team no longer lacked the killer instinct.Aggression was one adjective which went with Sourav Ganguly. He led the team with gusto making Rahul Dravid keep wickets and cement his place in the one day side. Some called him adamant, some adventurous.Sourav was not the one to bother about critics."
Dont worry about things which are beyond your control."he said. The results reflected his words. He had delivered the goods to the people of India.Indian Team was tranformed into Team India.

The Attitude
Can any Indian dream of making an icy cool Stephen Roger Waugh lose his calm.
Sourav Ganguly did.He made Waugh wait unconditionally for the toss.He looked into the eyes of his counterparts. He tormented the Aussies at their own backyard. The streak of aggression he brought in inculcated fears in the minds of the opponents. Dada almost spoilt Steve Waugh's Farewell series. He was one cricketer who shed all inhibitions about reputations.
People said he wore his heart on his sleeve, the English team will always remember Sourav's shirt swinging act at the Lord's balcony in reply to Andrew Flintoff's bare chest scene in India. An excited Sourav took off the Indian jersey and swung it sending Indians back home into a dizzy.England had to bow down to the Maharaj of Cricket.Moral of the stroy:We give back what we get.

The Conquests
Pakistan was sent searching for cover when Sourav Ganguly's boys thrashed them convincingly in both forms of the game in Pakistan itself. No other Indian skipper had manged to do this. The epic 3 match test series against Australia in 2001 where India came from rock bottom to register a series triumphwill stand testimony to his positive attitude.Champions Trophy triumphs,World Cup finals added to the numbers in his list of victories. The skipper trusted his instincts. He proved everyone wrong when he elected to bat on a windy day, when the ball was swinging both sides. He went on to the extent of pursuading Javagal Srinath to comeback after retirement.Obviously he had to succeed. Sourav's ability in man management and nurturing youngsters went a long way in him becoming India's most succesful test skipper ever.

Comeback King Sourav Ganguly Part 2:
"It is easier to give up.All you need to say is I Quit. The tough part is to carry on"-Sourav Ganguly.
A Greg Chappell or a Kiran More would be able to author this section in a better fashion than me!!!
In a public spat in the year 2006 with the then coach Greg Chappell ,Ganguly
was stripped of his captaincy.Accused of lack of motivational and fitness levels Ganguly was dropped."All doors are shut on Ganguly. He cant make it to the team forever" said chairman of selectors Kiran More.(Think twice before you speak, but who cares?!!?!)
Sourav lost his place in the side.Sourav lost his touch but what Sourav did'nt lose was his belief. He went back to the basics, played for Bengal, scored heavily in the Duleep Trophy and after a string of losses for the Indian side,Sourav was recalled. What followed was the most dramatic and remarkable comebacks in world cricket. The man was on a mission to prove his distractors wrong,he did and how!Sourav Ganguly Part 2 was unleashed on the field, his will power and determination came to the forefront.Sourav won the test of his life.Scoring runs like never before,Ganguly was the top run getter for the Indian team in Tests and piled over a 1000 runs in both forms of the game in the calendar year.Subsequently,Ganguly was awarded the
Castrol Asian Cricket of the Year.
Greg Chappel,Kiran More,need anything more?

The Final Roar
"Getting a ticket to the cricket stadium 1000 bucks possibly,
Watching Dada bat,Priceless!
There are some things money can't buy!!!!"
When Sourav Chandidas Ganguly walks into the cauldron at Nagpur, taking guard for one last time a wave of mixed emotions will engulf the cricketing world. The 22 yard strip would be graced by his presence for the final time.Through the grills of helmet if one notices his eyes, Nagpur,2008 would be unmistakably the same as Lords 1996.With the heart of an youngster,Sourav retires .As Sourav Ganguly walks into the sunset of a glittering carreer,he will be always remembered as a cricketer who gave his all for his country. The Royal Bengal Tiger strides away from its hunting ground, the cricketing field, retiring to its cave, the heart of every Indian where it will rest...

Every Indian Is proud of you SOURAV CHANDIDAS GANGULY . U can hold your chin high and leave the field proving everyone that you are made of steel. Hats off .

D.E.A.S Trip.. IV

Woov.. We were on our final day of our D.E.A.S trip.. We wanted to make the maximum use of it.. We were asked to get ready early as we were to go to the Chamundeshwari Temple in Chamundi Hills.. To the biggest of surprise, the teachers were ready before us.. For once i.e .. :D

So we boarded our bus as usual and went in first with 4 busses with both girls and boys behind us.. We raced into the temple first, stood in the queue and waited.. We had a lot of our friends there in Monkeys.. But after some time, it started to get scary.. Lol .. :D

Finally, we got the sight of god.. Prayed for sometime and then proceeded out where we bought Ladoo for ppl back home.. Lol.. Yet again, we were dead hungry and wished we could go eat.. The food in the morning was Okay comprising of Idly, Bread, Dosa etc etc.. After resting in our rooms again for half hour or so, amidst great confusion, the teachers decided to take us to Somanathpur - A temple of historical architecture belonging to the Hoysala Dynasty.. It was fun there where people could just sit down and marvel the architectural skill which the kings of olden times possessed.. After snapping pics there with all our classmates, it was time for us to go back to our hotel.. Finally, we were allowed to watch Batman in our return journey in the bus.. It rocked totally though i slept after the U KNOW HOW I GOT THESE SCARS scene.. :D

We reached the hotel first and rushed into the dining room to catch our seats before the crowd arrives.. And we were successful in doing that.. After eating, few of my friends who did not go to MORE the previous day went onto shop there.. I lost the interest in Shopping.. or rather, i never had any interest in Shopping.. :|:|.. So me and a couple of my friends decided to stay back in our rooms while rest of them went to MORE..

After an hour or so , they finally returned after HEAVY shopping there - I still am not able to realize what more they get there than what can be got here in Chennai.. :| Lol..

And finally, it was time for some mischief.. After asking many of my friends who turned down the offer, i got PREm who decided to walk with me to MYSORE PALACE.. :D:D.. Others, yet again proved to be sissys.. :D

We knew the teachers won't allow there as it is far.. So we lied we were going to MORE, rushed out of the hotel and started our walk to MYSORE PALACE..  And yay ! It was total fun.. We were too very lucky to catch the glimpses of Dussherra celebrations throughout our walk.. People dancing throughout in their folk dances, dressed at Ravana, Durga, etc etc., it indeed proved worthful for us to take the risk of walking to MYSORE PALACE.. :D

We reached there much earlier than we expected to, we ran half the journey.. We dint go in as we din't have enough cash to go in.. So we stayed outside, clicked some pics and came back .. The procession continued.. We wanted to stay and watch it for some more time, but we told our teachers we would come back in half an hour.. So we had to go back.. :D

When we reached the hotel, our teacher came out.. She knew that we had gone to Mysore Palace.. Who else but the scared people in my class would have told her.. But surprisingly, our teacher was kind enough to forgive us.. Lol..

It was late for the train.. We had to leave our hotels by 6.. So i grabbed my uniform and went to have a bath.. Next came the most toughest of activities.. Much tougher than Rapelling or Chimney Climbing.. It was to Pack my bag.. I hate it.. Totally.. I was scared throughout if i would loose something .. My cell, my charger, my wallet .. Damn.. I cant imagine loosing them and coming back home with a straight face.. Lol.. After checking a dozen times before leaving our room, i went on to board the bus.. We knew the journey together for the last time with my class was coming to an end.. No one realized it.. I dint too.. So we were normal.. Joked about things.. Kalaichified.. Did everything till we boarded the train.. And yet again, it was utter confusion in the train.. With girls sitting in the boys seat, boys sitting in the girls seat.. Lol.. But we had fun never the less.. And yea.. We were glad to be back home too..

But this journey has been a real good one.. A test of character especially for someone like me.. Lol.. Hoping for more..

Till then...

D.E.A.S Trip .. III

"Hello.. Good Morning.. " was how a maid there greeted us.. :D Funny.. Woke up early in the morning.. Around 530.. Have never waken up so early in my life.. :D And what was worse to hear was the lady saying - " The Sir wants you to be ready at 730.."

I mean What the ?!? To get ready at 730, why the hell should she spoil my beautiful sleep at 530 itself ? Curses on her.. :D LOl.. So i dozed off again.. While a few of my friends went about with their business.. Finally it was time for me to wake up.. At 7.. I realized that Reservations had already happened as to who uses the toilet next.. :D Lol.. And there were still 5-6 more boys to go..

Everyone wanted to have a bath.. But how could they ? It was freaking cold.. No hot water at all.. So i grabbed my brushing kit, a towel and a set of new clothes.. The wait was killing me.. 2 or so had finished.. All of a sudden, an animated character came out bursting.. Who was it ? WAs it a bird ? Was it a plane ? NO.. IT WAS RANGA..!! =))

Oh my god.. He came out saying - " Hey hey please da.. Urgenta varudhuda.. I dint go for 3 days da.."  :D:D I mean how could we not allow him to go ? The place would be disasterous if we din't allow him.. We said no initially.. But then he said Only 2 mins da.. :D

So we allowed him to go in.. Only with the promise of 2 mins.. He went in.. And went on and on.. And on.. Oh my god.. It was killing me..

I knew he would'nt come.. so i decided to go to my friends room and use his toilet there.. And guess who was there ? MR. Nath - our event manager.. With a big tummy of his, he only then went in to have his shave.. That too after that bath.. Funny.. he came out in 2 mins though.. Hats off to him..

And then finally came my time.. I brushed, washed my face and came off in a flash.. Was surprising to myself.. Lol..

We then proceeded to the eating place where they served BALLS.. :D:D Dunno what was stuffed inside.. Or rather u can call it IDLY BALLS.. :D Somehow managed to eat it.. And then, we were told we had to trek down the hill to then board the bus down..

So the trekking started downhill.. I particularly decided not to stick with my class mates as i know all they would be talking about will only be CHELSEA - UNITED.. :((

So i decided to walk front with the N sec ppl.. Lol.. WAs fun.. Gotta know many secrets.. Sources mainly Anjan.. After a 4km long trek, we saw the sight of the bus.. Lol..

And the journey back to mysore.. Stopped at a umm nice restaurant for our lunch.. Was decent.. Much better than what we got in Coorg.. Friends bought Coorg Honey, Coffee etc etc.. But i got ntn.. :D

After our lunch, we went the Namdorling Monastry - which i incidentally went only last holidays.. So it wasn't interesting to me as it seemed to my other mates.. Lol.. Only things which drived me or rather us were a couple of Girls who were there.. Hehe.. Cherriyazz.. :D

After all that, the journey again back to Mysore started.. It ended there.. Cuz i slept all through the journey.. Finally the picture of our hotel gleamed in front of my eyes.. :D Was dead tired and hungry.. So we grabbed our room keys and before anyone did any such reservations for using the toilet, i dashed into it first.. Much to the amuzement of the others.. :D Lol.. After a quick bath, it was time to attend to my stomach which was in need of some fuel.. And umm.. We were served ripping food.. Naan, Paneer Butter masala, Bindy Fry.. Yumm.. Just the perfect food we wanted..

And i went on eating till i realized that I started to over eat.. so it was must for me to walk.. So me and 3 of my friends got permission and started going to MORE - The big Baazaar of Mysore.. Nothing was to our expectations.. But boy oh boy.. Upstairs a kickass Dusherra offer.. They gave branded T-Shirts for 100.. I grabbed a Levi's t- shirt , bought it and was off to our Room.. din't feel sleepy at all after having such a heavy dinner.. So me and srinivas decided to join in the other room for playing a few rounds of UNO cards while Ghan was fast asleep.. What was more fun was PANCHATHANTIRAM was on.. Woov.. Ripping fun.. We went on and on till 11 when finally a ward came and told it was very noisy and forced us to sleep..

As usual, Srinivas refused to give in to sharing his bed.. I was in no mood to fight.. So i grabbed a sheet and went slept down clueless what was in store for us tommm .. :P

D.E.A.S Trip.. II

After a good night's sleep, it was back to business again.. We had to be ready next morning at 7.. All my friends, who are anyday smarter than me in all the aspects woke up at 5 and readied themselves up.. Me, a great man myself, woke up slowly, that too forcibly at 630.. I was literally pushed into the toilet by my friends.. And there too, I dozed off.. :D:D  After all , what's toilet without reading a newspaper.. :P:P

I was among the last batch of students who went down to eat dinner thanks to my own laziness. :D

And there, 3 buses in front of us beamed, destined to take us to Coorg.. The trip, must admit frankly was way too boring..  The bus couldn't pull our weights , I mean how could it ? :D And it constantly went at a very low speed while climbing up.. The teachers were busy watching COMEDIES OF VIVEK.. It was fun but then later turned out to be boring and must say Vulgar.. I happily settled down.. Grabbing my friend's I-Pod and tried dozing off - which i failed to.. The trip started to piss me off..  And worst part was the Fight as to whether United or Chelsea is superior among them started by the two greatest minds - Srinivas and Ghanshyam .. They went on and on and on.. All started to join.. I kept quite.. I had exhausted myself before fighting with them all along 9th and now 10th.. So i decided to keep quite.. But they refused to let me go..

One says Drogba is God.. Another says Ronaldo is God and that he'll see his grand mom play than watching Drogba.. Contradictory statements to one another.. I felt like shouting SHUT UP.. But how could I.. After all , its United..! :D

Finally we arrived at Coorg.. Saw the girls bus passing by.. :D We were taken further down Coorg to a place called as Golden Valley.. What followed from there was by far the most thrilling car ride i've ever had till now.. Oh my god..

We were onto a stony, dusty road.. And oh my god.. We were shaking like a pendulum.. Left Right Left.. And if we din't hold on, there we would have been.. On the roads..! :D  3.5 kms.. Just imagine.. It was like I was holding onto my life.. Literally.. We were tired.. Exhausted.. Our thighs, Hands, the spinal cord started aching.. We had enough.. And when we saw an Estate comin up, it was like Heaven in disguise.. I just felt lyin flat on our bed rooms.. But still, we were denied..

We had to have our breakfasts and zoom.. We were back trekking.. The weight of our body coupled with the weight of our bags..  Please.. Give us a break..

We returned back in the evening.. And finally were given our rooms.. But more Confusion followed.. No one knew exactly where to go.. Many were wandering clueless here and there..

And before we settled in our rooms, it was time for Dinner.. And it sucked.. Yuck.. Campfire was supposed to follow.. But then what's campfire without music dance etc .. I stayed there for a couple of mins.. But then my body could'nt stand any more.. Enough is enough.. I went on to sleep..

R.I.P

D.E.A.S Trip..

29th of September is when our D.E.A.S trip kicked off.. Destination Coorg and Mysore..

So here we were.. On September 29th , after all the shopping, the build up etc, the scene was the train and the station..  Kauvery Express it was at 915.. And as usual, we had to be there an hour early.. Still yet to figure out why.. :D

The station was a scene of bustling activity.. Students here and there, teachers strewn about and security guards patrolling up and down.. We just couldn't wait for the start of our train..

And finally when it did, it was fun.. Just talking, teasing and verbal duels with friends proved to be fun- which ultimately is the basis for this trip..  The train trip was beginning to get boring when a group of girls lit up the scene with dance, music etc.. :D Funniest part was when Ranga was shoo-ed off when he tried to involve himself by teasin the girls there.. Lol..

The rest of the train journey passed off normally.. And finally, we were there at the Mysore Station the next morning at around 815 or so.. Again, CONFUSION.. Where to go , how to go, Why ? All questions propped up.. Loadin our luggages in one bus and yet again transferring to the other - It started to bug me a bit..

Just as we boys were prepared to leave to Coorg - as of what was given in the Itenary - , the event manager changed the plans completely by making the girls go to coorg and boys stay at Mysore - Not that it mattered to us.. :D

Vyshak International was the place we stayed there at Mysore.. A sumptous breakfast followed by room allotment - the morning passed off like that.. The girls left for Coorg, while we were given exactly an hour to refresh ourselves..

After an hour or so, we were taken to PandavPura- An hour's drive from the place we lived - to commence all our activities..

We were split into groups according to our classes and were assigned to do three activities before the end of the day.. They were Rapelling, Chimney Climbing and Trekking..

Sounds ominous.. Rapelling was the first activity in store for us.. The steepest of rocks, a breathtaking scenary down and at the same time the Fear of Heights.. :D:D All made my stomach grumble with fear.. First I was hesitant to do.. Scared rather.. But then after some encouraging words from my friends, i decided to take it up.. After all , what's life without taking Risks.. Though it was a touch scary, it proved out to be much easier than I expected it to be.. :D People have rightly said that The Proof of the Pudding is in its tasting..

After lunch , we were taken to the next activity sight.. Chimney Climbing.. The name seemed strange to us.. We were joking about saying The school's going to make us robbers by askin us to climb the chimney's of others houses.. :D:D

But then, oh my god.. It was freaking tough.. The task was to climb up through a small opening of a couple of rocks.. :D

I bravely went to do it.. But to my disappointment, the man who was there to guide us said NO because the sole of my shoe was jutting out.. :D

So I had to sit watching all my mates go about doing the activity.. And finally, after all , i din't regret not going because many of my friends came back with scratches, bruises, etc etc..!

Next in line was trekking.. We were given an endurance test by our event manager.. He challenged us not to sip a drop of water until we finished the trek.. :D  So we moved on.. My shoe started showin signs of wear and tear.. I slipped in a couple of places initially but then got used to it.. Trekking was total fun.. Infact the best of the lot.. Friends and me had to help out another Fat boy who was left behind by all of us in a slippery place and he stood there shouting for help and ultimately started crying.. It was only late did we realize that he was missing.. And there we were to help him out.. :D  It was getting dark too.. Which led to more excitement.. :D

So the day passed on quite eventfully must say.. All that was required to round of the day was a good night's sleep .. :P

ZZZZZ !!

Football - Breath of my Life II

And from there, it's been some journey.. By 2003, after following United and football for 3 yrs, i felt no one had more knowledge about United than me.. As my horizon widened, i was shell shocked.. People know way more than me.. Much more..

The history, Managers, the BUSBY BABES and much more.. By 2005 or so, finally i found a friend who followed Football and BPL to some extent.. And fortunately, he was an United fan.. Knew as much as me only though.. So i searched and searched all over, learnt United's history fully.. And realized the greatness of this club..

2005 Champions League was something i love talkin about.. Even though United din't make headlines, it was Liverpool who did it..

"With his gifted right foot, Steven Gerrard says- Champions League knock out stages, here we COME.." - Tyler.. ( I MUG COMMENTARY incidentally)..

It turned out to be Liverpool's year.. The Finals.. Oh my god.. Jaw Dropping entertainment.. And the followin season too, FA Cup finals, West Ham United, 94th minute, yet again Stevie G makes it a draw and Pool win in Penalties..

Why am i talkin about pool here ? Knowin that they are my rivals ?

Well true.. But time has coagulated on me.. The fanatasism with United is at the peak with me.. I would die for United.. But now, i find a way to enjoy each and every match.. Watford, Leeds anything.. U say they're playin football, am in watching..

And the last two yrs, i have been praying for United.. And shed a tear or two when we won the UCL.. Hats off United, Saf and all its players and supporting staff..

If not for this wonderful United team, i would nowhere been followin this wonderful game.. SO THANKS A TON UNITED..

Last but not the least, CHELSEA, ARSENAL, POOL ARE SHITE.. I've Followed United since i was a kid.. (THE FANATASISM CONTINUES.. GO UNITED..~!!! )

Football - Breath of my Life II

Football - Breath of my life..

Well, it's been long since i wrote a post.. And just going through my blogs, i realized that i hadn't written about the Footy i watch week in and week out..

The Barclays Premier League !

Seriously.. Even playing with my friends can't reach the excitement and the intensity with which i watch the EPL..(Or lately, BPL)

Datin back to 2000, Me born in India was introduced to cricket first as usual.. And none in my family liked Football too.. So it was just an accident.. During the summer days, when i used to stay home with nothin other than T.V for company, i lied down and switched on EPL.. Worse for me, Football was going on.. And i clearly remember it was Man United vs Southampton.. Haha..

And so i saw this team in Red leadin 2-0 with 50 mins gone.. I was clueless.. I thought the ref was mad in blowin the whistle every other minute or so.. And finally the match got over, and the coverage continued..

And over week, i started following the football played by Man United.. So people, i have to confess somewhere or the other.. I accept I became an United fan by accident..(accidents are good).. And from there its been an amazing journey from me.. Followed football every year henceforth.. Maybe not with the intensity with which i watched cricket and Sachin then..

Then in 2002, St.James' Park, United vs Newcastle was scheduled to take place.. And i as usual being an United "FAN" then, switched on to watch the match.. We were down within 10mins.. I remember Tyler shoutin out- " Jenas by name, Genius by Nature", i felt WHATS GOING ON ? Lol..

Then came Paul Scholes.. Blasted home 3 goals.. Ripped the ball.. And we won the match 6-2.. Boy.. This match is what turned me from an United Fan to A Fanatic henceforth..

And from there its been United all the way.. And i have never in my life uttered a thing wrong about this CLUB..

Role Models in my life..

As it goes, I live my life entirely deriving inspirations from the life of other great people's life. All though I go by the irony that it'll be me who goes forward and others follow, I do often look upto certain people in my life.

  • Mahatma Gandhi- I don't know why people have a disliking towards this great man.. Some say he's a coward.. I say those people are cowards. Not one man could win over a reckoning force without taking a weapon in his hand. Such is the greatness of the FATHER OF OUR NATION.. I am one of the uniquest people having a great liking towards Indian History.. And each time i read it, I get inspired by the way he was able to unite Hindus, Muslims and a country of 1 billion to oppose the British Rule only through Non Violence.! His speeches and quotes created a legacy which was largely used by Martin Luther King Jr., another great person, for Black Freedom in the United States.
  • Isaac Newton - Haha.. Now I know I won't be much popular among my batch mates who incidentally happen to read my blog for writing his name here. But i give a damn. I mean if only i had a quarter of his brains, aah.! I can imagine where I would be.. Lol..(i know am dreaming.) Firstly when i saw his picture when i was in 7th or so, I thought he would be yet another general of the British in India.. Haha.. Only when i came to 8th did i know the brains of this genius. From his F=ma to all his laws in motion and gravity, his ability in reasoning and science is what wanted me to pursue and realize there is something more to Physics than blind reading. And that's why i love physics.
  • Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam - The one who has set my "Wings in fire".. "DREAM BIG".. That's what the greatest Scientist of India had to say to all the young children of India.. He further quoted- "Transforming India into a developed nation by 2020 and seeing smiles on the faces of one billion people is the greatest challenge for our nation." He had a vision for India. From a village in the southern tip of Tamil Nadu, Rameshwaram, to a MIT student, to the Rashtrapathi Bhavan and now India's most lovable person, his journey inspires many a people. His modesty and his affection for Kids is what makes him such a special person in my life.
  • Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev - My guru, a great personality whose main aim is to make people realize the purpose for which they are living.. A great donar too.. Has set up many schemes all around Tamil Nadu to help the needy by providing free education, free medicine and many others things like this.. Not all people in this modern advanced world have the heart to help the ones who are in need of it, which says he is one in a billion.
  • Sylvester Stallone - This great versatile actor just about finishes my top 5 of my role models.. Well, people may ask what's so great about this actor which has made me rate him as one of the best.. Few do know Slyvester had paralysis in his mouth.. He had lost everything in his life.. His friends saw him as sore loser.. Thats when the fire burning within this man came out.. He came up with a story for a film.. A film entirely about Boxing.. And nothing else.. When he showed it to his friend who was a director, he just said it was REAL CRAP and shouted straight at his face saying NO MORON WOULD LIKE TO WATCH A 2HR FILM WHICH INVOLVES BOXING.. The ambition to prove all these people who had discarded him made him take a huge risk.. He got a help from his little know friend to direct the film where he was the source of story, dialogue and the actor.. And what was the movie ? Umm, R-O-C-K-Y ! Wooah.! If not for this man's burning desire, we would never had the inspirational Rocky Series.. Hats off Sylvester..

There are others too who inspire me like Lincoln, John.F.Kennedy, Sachin Tendulkar, Rajinikanth, few of my friends and my parents.. But none give me more inspiration than the ones i've mentioned above..

What an Article.! What a man.! Hats off SuperStar..

SuperStar, we Salute U !

These are the lines of the title song of SuperStar's latest movie-Kuselan.!

"Japan Pona Super Star, German Pona Super Star
America’vil Super Star Africa’vil Super Star"..

Let me start writing about the SuperStar of India.! Biggest India has had without any Doubts.!

R - A - J - I - N - I !!!

Well, people may ask what is that is so special about him.!

For the starters, his journey says it all.! Like all other successful people over the world, Rajinikanth a.k.a Sivaji Gaekwad started his career as a BUS CONDUCTOR.!

Hear it out people, as a BUS CONDUCTOR.! Woov has it been an incredible journey.! Bus Conductor to a SUPER SUPER STAR !

Got into cinema with the help of many influences..! As he said, Cinema was only an accident to him.! But my GOD.! Accidents do come good !

And now he has a demi-god status.! Not only in Tamil Nadu.. But in all parts of India and now in Japan and United States etc etc.!

Now what makes him the best among all !? Well people may argue that the Bachans or the Khans are better than him.! Well they may be better than him( not in my opinion though).!

But people must look into the fact that Mr.Bachan and all Khans(with all due respects to them) have become popular only through Hindi cinemas.! Or namely Bollywood.!

They had the language in their side, a language which major parts of India understood..

But Rajinikanth, acting in a regional language which aint even quite talked about in the South and yet being a SUPERSTAR talks loads about him.! Only can I imagine what impact he would have created if only he had been in Bollywood.! (Maybe would have bought Oscars).!

Now what makes this man an unique person.! Well the thing which stands out is his modesty.! Being a Superstar, he only gets down in an Ambassador, has the heart to Apologize-which i bet no celebrity in India has.!

And he keeps in touch with his olden days.! In every film of his do u see a dialogue related to his stint as a Conductor.! Be it Sivaji, Annamalai, Padayappa, etc etc.!

Some may argue that Rajini aint an ACTOR..U know one who can ACT actually.! Er.! Its the Demi God status which Die Hards Rajini fans like me give him is what is making him do Larger Than Real Life Films.! (which we thrive and wait for).!

As his mentor K.Balachander once put it before the release of Padayappa, he said- " People has lost Rajini the Actor by getting to see Rajini the SUPERSTAR"

BUT WHO CARES.! HE's OUR THALAIVAR, SUPERSTAR, GOD and so on.!

SUPERSTAR WE SALUTE U FOR WHAT U ARE.! LONG LIVE SUPERSTAR.!

Me, Mine and Myself.! Part IV

Ctd..

Even then, I enjoy life and school.! hardly do worry about teachers giving their piece of mind for not giving the notes..

Happily sit down in the last bench..And i have a partner who acts like a kid and can explode any moment.!

So hardly do I talk with him too.! But suddenly he pops up asking me- " Osama Bin Laden ku BAYAM na enna nu theriyadhu..! Why ?"

I in my usual sleepy sense say I DUNNO ..

And he keeps a expression-less face and answers-" Because he doesnt know Tamil.! "

I feel like laughing.! But somehow control it, because I am scared of his pendulum like MOOD SWINGS.!

And the worst part is yet to come.!

I have teachers who are H.O.D's.! Worst.! But then, i happily sit in the last bench and sleep.! :D

Lol.! And then, much to my relief and fear, i hear the evening prayer.!

Relief refers to school ending.! and fear ? The fear of staying two more hours of school for math or coming back and going to sanskrit(which I promised i would be going in the mornings).. :D

Lol.! And after finishing all my classes, i relax for some time.! And when the clock strikes 7, i would have to be there at my desk.! TO STUDY OR ACT LIKE STUDYING.! :D

Lol.! And then have my dinnah and then come online only to catch up with friends and to blog.! Hehe..

Well this is much about me.! Only when i start writing, I realize i have so much in my life.! Lol.!

Thanks again !

Me , Mine and Myself.! Part III

Well, last two blogs i wrote about my parents, my relatives and of course my friends.! So this is going to be a blog entirely dedicated to me.! :D:D

Am gonna write about the various things I do in the course of a day and you know, various things about me.!

Well for the starters, Am just a normal guy.! A guy next door.! Love music.. Love Football and LOVE UNITED !

3 things which i can't be separated from.! Lol..

And for the others who know me something more, I am the laziest person in the world.! Totally.! Love to Eat, Sleep, Play and again the cycle continues.

Few say I am a nerd.. :D Fact is that I aint.! :P Hard Guess ppl..! =))

Well here's my routine.!

I have a so called Sanskrit class during mornings.! I always promise mom that I'll wake up at 530 and go to the class..

But as I told you..AM the laziest person..And all the time i oversleep..And sleep nicely..:D

And finally I wake up.! Or rather am forced to wake up.. Cuz the blaring sound of FM in my house-the noise of 'BIG 92.7 fm POZHUDUPOKIN UCCHA KATTAM.!' :D- That wakes me up.! (aah..How life would have been without that..)

And then i realize the time would have been 7.! So I catch my brushin equipments and sit down to read the newspaper..

Half the time I drowse while reading it too..:D

And then sit down to eat something at 750..

Hardly do eat though.! And then I am at school at 8 or so..!

I go there..And much to my amazement, all friends barge at me asking- " You finished Record work ? You finished Chemistry notes " and stuff like that.! {WHEN WILL THEY REALIZE THAT THE WORLD WOULD COME TO AN END IF I SUBMIT MY NOTES ON TIME :) }

I keep a straight face to all those things and get in.! Knowing what would be in store for me if i don't write those notes.. :D

Me, Mine and Myself.! Part II

  • My friends !
Form the Integral part of my life.! Life without them is totally nothing.!

My life with friends only revolves around four things : Cricket, Football, Orkut and 'Ooru Suthifying'.!

Its because of this I have more friends than what I imagined would have.!

  • Cricket
I've freaked my life out by playing cricket in the hot sun- have played in almost all the sector grounds and roads with various different friends of mine.!

Ram, Raghav, Arjun, Kaushal , Barry, Vivek, Karthik, Darvi , Vishal, Robin, Prakash, Niraj , Ashwin , Vijay- Have played with them all.! :D:D

  • Football
New venues, new sets of friends.! But Kaushal and Raghav have stuck with me wherever i went.!

Hehe.!

I've played with a few seniors of mine in Sangeeta Colony.! Most memorable experience was beating them 7-1 once.! Hehe.!

Rj, Vc, Rahul, Sudharshan, Ranga , etc etc have played with them..

Next was Ceebros Gardens.!

A mixture of Psbb, JV and various other School students.! Was an all together fun experience playing there.!

Anirudh, Akshay, Ashutosh, Prabjyot, Sachin, and loads of others too..

  • Orkut
Next comes this.. www.orkut.com..

This has where my friend circle has expanded more than where I got the others.. Known people who were unknown to me for sometime again became known now. :D

Unknown people have now become the closest of my friends..

And contact with the well known people has continued.!

This has what orkut has got me.! A new dimension of friends..

  • 'OORU SUTHIFYING'
Well, as it says, just going out with my friends more often than not.. From movies to Citi Centre to Beach and back.. From 12G busses to Koyambedu to T.Nagar.! Lol.!

And from various B'day Parties to Back.!

This is from where i got various friends of mine..

They make up the second part of my life. !

Me, Mine and Myself.! Part I

Well, since no new topics went over my head, i decided to write a blog all about myself-My life, My day and My interests !

Well to start off.!

  • My parents.!

The dearest ones for me.! (as in the case of everyone i suppose)

Well, Two different and unique people must say.! Totally.!

One is totally religious while the other is spiritual.! One says yes, other co-incidentally says no.! One starts arguing, other continues(which spoils the atmosphere for me to study in :D:D) and when I get into it to make them stop fighting, all i get back is SCOLDINGS from them for no reason of mine.! Lol.! That's why I let them continue and happily sit and listen to their arguments. ! :D

  • My relatives.!
May not be as important as my friends.! But life for me without them too aint complete.! Cousins Cousins and Cousins are all I have.! Have some 15 of them.! :0

But it's fun with them.! A weekend hangout with them followed by some gully cricket with cousins including my uncles is all I have time for in the weekend.!

Abishek, Vignesh, Rishi, Ananya, Praveen to name a few are all unique in their own way.!

One I go out with always and in return gets me something or the other even if i say NO.! Kickass Company ! (Recently got a shorts which was shorter than an underwear).!

Next, a Silent Killer should say.! Hehe.! Hardly talks but comes up with Valid and Just points.!

"ONLY SUCCESS" is what can describe my other cousin ! :D:D Has a "problem" with me for saying "OK" ! I always say I'll "TRY" not to use it but finally end up using it.! "DON'T KNOW" why.! Hehe.!

And the rest 2 are small but too very kind.! TOTAL FUN to be with .!

Sat down to put in the teams.! Myself, Ghanshyam, Vignesh , Navnit , Ranga( !!!!!) , Aravind and Srinivas in our side.!

Theirs was anyday stronger.! Prem, Nitin , Prashanth, Adithya, Anirudh, Shaswath, Prithvi and SV.!

Lol.! We started in bare foot.! Started in perfect tone.! One touch passing throughout.! But as usual, we hardly had any one to defend.! Lol.! And within half time, they were 3-0 up.!

And now, the heat was setting in..We could feel it.! I started hoppin with cramps.! Hehe.!

Second half started..! We scored our first goal.! FINALLY ! Wooho.! Passed it right, Ghan was there to slot it home.! We were back.! Or atleast we could say we were back.!

But in a broader sense, we were too tired to give it a fight.! We scored a couple more.! One me and other Ghan.!

But in the meantime, they had scored 2 too.! Lol.! So we decided to end it.! They won 5-3.! Enough was Enough for us.! Hehe.!

We removed our slippers and darted towards the beach.! Aah.! What feeling it was.! Cool water.! Best thing to happen to us then.!

And what was better then was a Kwality Walls man came over.!

All of us grabbed an ice cream.! I had two though..:D

We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.! Was an Ultimate Experience.!

Hope we go more frequently.! Lol.!

My Life at PSBB till date !

I thought I better start writing something about myself ..Well that's what blogs are all about.. So i sat down imagining on what to write about, this topic popped out. ! And i really do want to speak my heart out about my life at PSBB.! MY HOME.!

All started for me in the year 1996.! The first time i stepped into the gates of PSBB as a young boy, i realized this wasn't just the entrance to PSBB, but a step towards a new future.! A new life of wonderful journeys and experiences were ahead for me..

I spent the first three years of my schooling life studying in H section along with a bunch of various other mates of mine.! Don't remember much of those years.! But all I can say was that it would have been total fun.! :D

So when i was in UKG, i knew i had to take a new subject..which would result in a new section and a new set of friends.! Took Hindi !

And was landed in 1-L..! That's where my actual friendship started.! Loads of cool friends.! Was rocking fun..

And so it was.! 3 yrs of new experiences.! 3rd was a wonderful year.! Bagged the All Rounder and a general proficiency in Math.! :D

And yet again.! It all was bought down to yet another change in language.! Had to choose between Hindi and Sanskrit.! I had told all my friends that I was going to take Hindi..But people at my house wanted me to take Sanskrit as they thought it was easier..

Infact i had a friend of mine who wrote and gave it as Hindi and later changed to Sanskrit cuz i had changed.! Hehe.!

So i landed in 4k.! 4th turned out to be a mixed uear for me.! I was into all the mischieves in the world.! Was definitely not Teacher's favourite.! Was always into her complaint book.! Infact had my parents called..! Hehe.! But the only consolation i had that year was an All Rounder and Profficiency in Math and Sanskrit.! Hehe.!

5th went quite normally.! Started developing more and more friends.! The same set was carried onto 6-E ! 6th, 7th, 8th were quite uneventful .! Seems as though nothin happened in these years.! Though opinions of my friends may differ.! Haha.!

So it was 8th holidays.! That's when i renewed old friendships-the ones in 3rd or so.! Largely thanks to ORKUT ! Hehe.! No Wonder am attached to it now.!

Lol.! 9th was by far the best year.! Enjoyed to the maximum extent..

MORE PARTYING, MORE BUNKING CLASSES, MORE TEASING, MORE FUN and Ofcourse, MORE FOOTBALL..! Hehe.!

That year had to end.! And the thought of me entering the 10th always passed over my head.! The year i had to concentrate more on studies.!

Hehe.! But 10th has now started.! And am enjoying the last year in my wonderful class.! 10 E.!

Many may say it sucks and it's all very nerd-ish class.! But people just don't know what it's all about.! must realize that the PROOF OF THE PUDDING IS IN TASTING IT.!

Anyways no one cares on what others say..! I love my class.! I love all my friends.!

RIPPERS ! Thanks a lot for making my life in Psbb so special.!

Hopin for more wonderful years ahead,

SId.!

Wimbledon Finals Part- III

WE were there.! The Final set.!

It started off smoothly with both the players holding their serves with ease until rain stopped their journey at 2-2.! Disrupted the play for nearly half hour.!

And when the skies cleared, we knew that the players would be entering the arena for the one last time..

Both played some excellent tennis.! It was 7-7.! One erring in Federer's serve gave the much needed opening for Nadal.! He got his opportunity to break Federer.!

And so did he.! He was there..! He knew it.! He sensed it..We sensed it.! The Championship now seemed to be in Nadal's grasp.!

As they described, they were now playing in utmost darkness.! The sun waited till it's last ray only to see the end of this great battle.!

And so did we.! A Federer forehand error sent Nadal falling to the grass only to the feeling that he was the NEW WIMBLEDON CHAMPION.!

And so was he.! He had dethroned King FEDERER's reign at the Centre Court.!

A left hander had done it again.! (going back to the 80's where Mckenroe-a leftie- dethroned Borg, who also won 5 Continuous championships).!

A tennis match which kept the viewers glued for more than 6 hours.! The longest Wimbledon Final till date.! 4 hrs and 48 mins.! RIPPING aint the WORD.!

I consider myself truly lucky to have witnessed this phenomenan.!

ACCORDING TO ME, BOTH WERE CHAMPS.! CHAMPS IN THEIR OWN WAY.! I WISH THERE WERE "DRAWS" IN TENNIS..!

Even though i supported Nadal, TENNIS WAS THE TRUE WINNER.!

Wimbledon Finals Part-II

The third set started.! It was 2-2 with Federer serving.! Doubts of whether he would win his 6th Championship was the talking point of everyone there.! And indeed it was.! Couple of Federer's errors and a Nadal Brilliance got it to 0-40.! Everyone in my house thought- "Indeed has the Champ Fallen".!

BUT HOLD ON.! The Champ had risen from the ashes..He won that game and the set in a tie-breaker 7-5.!

It was 2-1 Nadal.! After the rain interruption in the 3rd set, the skies had cleared now.!

Fourth Set had commenced.! It was 6-5 to Nadal.! And Fed was a championship point down..But fought it all out to get it to a tie Breaker.!

And people if i aint commenting much about this tie breaker, i need'nt have written this blog at all..!

Some gripping tennis with a mixture of emotions.. All was witnessed in this tie breaker.! The Champ was down 2-5 in the tie breaker.! Nadal's serve too.! Reliable one.!

Is this the end of Federer ? Er.! HOLD ON.! WE KNOW WHAT CHAMPIONS ARE MADE OF.! NERVES OF STEEL !!

Nadal double faulted once and then played a poor point.! 4-5.! Two ripping services to make it advantage fed.! 6-5.! Set Point Fed.! Nadal held both his services to go 6-7.! Second championship point of the Set.! Federer saved it.. Federer's second serve..He played a perfect point followed by a perfect approach shot.!

BUT NADAL.! BOY O' BOY.! What a pass it was.! Jaw Dropping pass..! Out of no where.! Hail Nadal for that.! 7-8 to Fed.!

Third Championship Point.!

Nadal served into the corner.! Came in.! But Federer.! U beauty.! A ripping pass down on Championship Point.! It had to be perfect.! And it was.!

8-8 to Federer.! And with yet another bullet services, and a huge roar of "YEAAAAA", it was SET for Federer.! Emotions was at its peak.! Nadal disappointed about his missed chances.!

THE CHAMP IS HERE.! READY TO TAKE UP THE FIGHT TO THE COMPATRIOT.! IT's GAME ON.!

Wimbledon Finals Part-I

It was an usual Sunday for me.! Classes in the morning and exam the next day.. The only thing that cheered me up that day was the Wimbledon Final between the 2 greatest players- Namely Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer..

I came and sat down in my hall..! Sat down with the book to revise something for the next day's test(Which i flopped ultimately :D) but i was shocked to see my parents sit down and switch on the television..

I asked why ? And bang came the answer.! "Cuz i wanna see Wimbledon finals".!

All i thought to myself was "WOOV"..Nothing else..Never had such a build up to a sporting event happened in my house, not even for any cricket match..

So this was all that we were bothered about that night.! WIMBLEDON, CENTRE COURT, RAFA NADAL vs ROGER FEDERER.!

I felt as though no one was with me.! My dad, Kaushal, Vivek and Barry were all supporting Federer.! And i realized i would be the only one to shout "VAMOS RAFA".!

But all i prayed was that it would be a good match.!

As usual, the Finals was delayed thanks to some heavy shower at London.. Was delayed by one hour.!

But there it all started..The covers were removed, umpires were at their positions and the players arrived with a standing ovation.!

The first set started with a flurry.! None of the 2 gave up on any points.! Slugged it out.! And by the look of it, we could say that we were in for a real feast..

Nadal broke Federer in the 10th game and took the first set in 48 mins.! 1-0 to Rafa.!

Second started in the similar fashion.! But this time around, Federer dominated.! Broke Nadal once and went into a 4-1 lead.! But just before we could count Nadal out, he unleashed the bull within himself.! Broke Fed twice and won the next 5 games and with it the set 6-4.!

Woohoo.! 2-0 to Nadal.! Yay ! I was jumping around.! People started to think-" Has the Champ Fallen" ?

Abraham Lincoln's Letter to his Son's Head Master

" He will have to learn, I know, that all men are not just, all men are not true. But teach him also that for every scoundrel there is a hero ; that for every politician there is a dedicated leader. Teach him that for every enemy there is a friend. It will take time, I know, but teach him, if you can, that a dollar earned is of far more value than five found. Teach him to learn to loose and also to enjoy winning, steer him away from envy if you can; teach him the secret of quiet laughter. Let him learn early that the bullies are the easiest to lick; Teach him, if you can, the wonder of books but also give him quiet time to ponder the eternal mystery of birds in the sky, bees in the sun and flowers on a green hillside. In school, teach him it is far more honorable to fail than to cheat. Teach him to have faith in his own ideas. even if every one tells him they are wrong. Teach him to be gentle with the gentle people, and tough with the tough. Try to give my son the strength not to follow the crowd when everyone is getting on the band wagon. Teach him to listen to all men, but teach him also to filter all he hears on a screen of truth, and take only the good that comes through.

"Teach him, if you can, how to laugh when he is sad. Teach him there is no shame in tears. Teach him to scoff at cynics and to beware of too much sweetness. Teach him to sell his brawn and brain to the higher bidders, but never to put a price tag on his heart and soul. Teach him to close his ears to a howling mob and to stand and fight if he thinks he's right.

"Treat him gently, but do not cuddle him, because the only test of fire make fine steel. Let him have the courage to be impatient; let him have the patience to be brave. Teach him always to have sublime faith in himself, because then he will always have sublime faith in mankind.

"This is a big order, but see what you can do. "

SPL 2008-2009

[ Am writing this just to create a tinge extra to this SPL saga and no personal offence was to be meant to anyone..! ]

You hear the name P.S.B.B , u associate it with the SPL elections we hold every year.! Woov.! It seriously is the Climax of Entertainment.! From huge banners to small "Invitations" we had this year, from huge cheers to a round of big "BOOS"- U have it all.! That's what makes it so special.!

Lol.! So getting into the thick of things.!

What was seen to be VIVEK's YEAR( and deservedly too..) at the helm of PSBB , it din't get started all that well.!

Vivek wasn't allowed to stand due to reasons, hmm..well not known to us yet.! He seemed disappointed, we seemed disappointed too.! What followed was a serious of protests in orkut as well as in our school.! But still Vivek wasn't allowed to stand.! And for the first time, there was only one representative from both the Commerce sections - Introducing one and only SURAJ.! LOL..

They said Change is always welcome.! So Vivek was now Suraj.! (Aah..I know i copied that..Anyways.! :D )

The rest of the candidates were :-

(No offence meant)
  • Navin(Jordon)
  • Sachin( We know who the real SACHIN is..)
  • Geeth ( The Brains of P.S.B.B)
  • Karthik (KEYBOARD OR DRUMS ?)
  • Anand (Ronaldo..Watch out :D)
And last but not the least, SURAJ.!

Lol.! And all along we've witnessed so many see-saw battles.! From what turned out to be a Suraj-Karthik bitter rivalry(They were class mates), to Navin-Suraj(day before the supporting speech) to finnaly the Sachin-Suraj rivalry.!

None knows who'll come out in flying colors..! We aint discarding others too..!

But we surely do know that this has been an SPL elections to remember.!

Thanks..!

Sid..!

p:S- SPL OR NO SPL, VIVEK IS OUR SPL.!

No Eden, No Chepauk.! Only 6th Sector.!

The Title says it all.! No Eden Gardens, No Chepauk can match the cricket we play here.! GULLY CRICKET re-defined.! But yea.! Wrote this blog to share some RIPPING experiences we've had in this MECCA of ours.!

Lol.! Okay let me get started.! What we(refers to myself and few of my other friends who live near by) started playing only as 4-5 members now has turned into something big.! Something real big involving 20 people.! :D

The excitement level reached its peak during the summer holidays.! We had people of varied characters coming and playing.! From Kaushal to Raghav , from Vishal to Robin, and from Barry to Vivek- We had them all coming here and playing.! And include some more people from my friend's class and my cousin who came for one day, the list is all but complete.!

Hm.! So this fine Saturday, we had too many people to cope into 2 teams even though there were loads of absentees.! So we decided to play a tri-series sort of a game.! Rules were simple..! Only 4 overs per team.! It was HIT OUT OR GET OUT..!

By logic, with all due respect to my team mates, we had the weakest team when compared to the other teams.! BUT HELL YEA.! PLAY WITH A WEAK TEAM, PLAY WITH PASSION.!

That's what we did exactly.! Myself, Kaushal, Raghav, Santanam(The one who made his debut that day..:D) and Vishal (who joined in late).. After loosing the first game, we were in a dire strait in a must win game.! With opponents needing 7 of the last over, i decided to bowl.! People in my team started to pray and stuff like that.! AND BOY.! First ball i bowled, WHAM.! Clean bowled..! (I aint self praising.! That's what happened..:| :D)

So yea , we were like taunting other teams saying: "WEAK TEAM, BUT WE MAKE THE FINALS.!" :D Such was the mood in our team.!

So finals it was.! We faced the team we lost to in the first match.! So REVENGE was in the cards.!

Santanam, who hadn't bowled a single ball uptil now was given an oppurtunity.! (It was only to experiment.) But Sam THALA.! Woov.! First ever Hat-Trick witnessed..! WHAT A MAN.! We were on CLOUD 9 already.!

Even then they managed a formidable total.! We knew it was tough.! But all was not well.! We were losing.! All seemed to happen in a flash.! We had only Raghav remaining.! No one else.!

6 runs off 4 balls.!

5 off 3..

4 off 2..!

And finally..3 off 1.!

The tension could have been cut with a knife.! Such was the tension.!

I had been running for Raghav till now.! But Kaushal said he wanted to run in the last ball.! People were shouting.! We were like- JUST RUN WHATEVER SH!? happens..! :D

Guess what happened ? Raghav edged..! Edged badly too..! First we thought it would only be a single run, then double, But before we could open our eyes, he ran three..! WE WON..!!

WOHOO..! WHAT CELEBRATIONS IT WAS THAT DAY..! :D SOMETIMES EDGES TOO WIN U MATCHES.. :D

Lol.! This in one of the few experiences we've had in this wonderful place.! Felt like sharing.!

6th SECTOR RIPS !

Where's Indian Politics heading to ?

Recently there was an article written by Shashi Tharoor( The Indian who was in the running for the UN General Secretary post) about the effectiveness of American Presidents (with the exception of one or two) when compared to that of Indian Politics as a whole . And true was he when he rightly found out that the reason to America's current status is due to their "Educated Presidents" ! Out of the last 20 odd presidents America has had, 10 of them have been graduated from either the prestigious Harvard University or the Yale University. Now why is that India is still developing when most of the countries are ahead of us ? We surely can't complain about the lack of resources.

Well, I strongly do believe it is the inability of our politicians to think and chalk out better strategies. And so here it all starts. Can people having literally no education be politicians of India ? The answer would definitely be a "NO" . A unanimous one too. Let's just look around to see what's happening in our country.

One on hand we have the Congress which shows us the perfect example of 'All power and no responsibility'. And the President of India, who yet again is from the Congress, shows us a contrasting example of all the good things which the respected Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam had achieved in his four years at the helm.

On the other, we have an so called opposition(BJP) who literally live up to their tag of "opposition party" by opposing each and every bill which is being bought about by the Ruling Government without paying much thoughts about the welfare of the country.

Now how in the world can we imagine our country being par with the United States in the coming years with this kind of a political system ?

There are many unanswered questions which won't be answered until we have politicians like the ones we have now.

It's too hard to imagine a country like India, which has such an excellent record in its cultural front, have too many politicians but hardly any statesmen.

Thanks

Sid.!
